Weary Wednesday

Ahhh Wednesday, the hump day of the week. Surely if I can make it past today then the weekend will be in sight?

Monday was just dreadful, work felt like a battle, staying awake felt like a battle and not inhaling the contents of the refrigerator was certainly a battle. But, alas, I made it through Monday alive and gritted my teeth ready for Tuesday.

Tuesday was a dream, work went swimmingly and all sorts of others sparkly things occurred.

Some handsome man greeted me from work with these:

Then a wonderful mother-in-law greeted me at home with these:

At this point, I began to suspect that something awful had happened and they were trying to soften the blow! But no, it just got better. Marion also bought us these two beauties for the kitchen wall:

{A lovely sage green plate rack, only one plate on as we're nervous to see if the wall can take the weight of the rack before we add more)
{A beautiful wooden trinket holder to cover the ugly wall that wasn't re-plastered when the rest of the kitchen was done: we're waiting until after we replace the boiler}

As if that wasn't enough, Ben sculpted this at school for us:

Then (phew!) to top it all off, we booked our summer holiday: a month in France! Needless to say, I was blown away by my lovely Tuesday.

But Wednesday? Well, life isn't perfect is it? Today work felt like a battle, staying awake felt like a battle and not inhaling the contents of the refrigerator was certainly a battle. But, alas, I made it through today alive and my teeth are slightly less gritted, knowing that I'm over the hump and the weekend is truly in sight! Rx

  1. I'm so glad that you just referred to today as "hump day" because I just BARELY said to all of my students as the school bell rang, Wednesday is done! We're over the hump! And they all looked at me like I was crazy!

    And I LOVE that picture of the couple and red umbrella. Stunning.

    1. Your workload sounds like mine Bonnie, my teaching is really heavy Monday to Wednesday (five hours every day with after school meetings/ sessions every day-gasp!) Now Thursday is here, I feel better already. R x

  2. What is it with Wednesdays & exhaustion? Or I 'spose it is more accurate to say what is it with Tuesday nights & not sleeping lol.
    Well congrats on making it through the day, and here's to Thursday!
