Just under two weeks ago Steve was lying on the carpet giving Gizzy a scratch when he found a small pea sized lump at the top of his left leg. I took him to the vets the next day and they reassured me that it could be a whole host of things, to just ignore it for two weeks and then look at it again to see if it had grown/ changed (you shouldn't check daily as it's harder to work out if it's grown).

I checked it today. It's bigger, a lot bigger and very angry looking. I took him straight back to the vets and tomorrow he's having an operation to have it removed. We don't know what it is yet and won't until the results come back from the lab.

If I'm looking for the silver lining, it's that he doesn't have to stay overnight at the vets. Being a cat and dog shelter dog/ dog who spent a lot of time in the vets having operations on the leg he eventually had removed, he's not a dog to enjoy being left in a cage in a strange place overnight.
