Arcade Fire!

Today we needed to go to the market to collect some pictures we had framed. We stopped off for lunch in this pretty pub. Check out the glowing moose head on the right...

Ben had already had two breakfasts(!) so we decided to just share two meals between the three of us. The menu looked great but in the end we opted for the venison burger and the tuna and spring onion toasted sandwich with a cup of spicy parsnip soup on the side. Yum.

Afterwards, Ben indulged in a chocolate apple, as you can tell from the photo, I wasn't at all jealous.

All fed, we went off to play at the arcades which we haven't done since we went to Matlock in Derbyshire over the summer. Ben aced the movie making game:

Whereas Steve came out trumps on a game where you had to roll a coin into (a rather creepy looking) man's mouth:

A good time had by all! Don't you just love the weekend? Steve and I are both teachers and so even though we both work full-time (and often long into the evenings), we are lucky enough to have weekends and holidays together.

When we got home, we took Gizzy for a walk and couldn't get over the thickness of the ice where the trees had kept the sun off the puddles today.

We're back home and in the warm now. The rest of the evening will be spent playing with Lego until Ben goes to bed and then me and Steve have devised a master plan that involves food, cups of tea, the sofa and the first box set of 'The Wire'. He's already watched the whole lot and is now insisting I do the same. Hope everyone out there has a lovely evening. x
